Nick Goudkuil
I'm a Dutch organist, composer and arranger living in Germany at the moment. I'm currently serving as organist and director of music at the Pilgrimage Church Saint Cecilia in Düsseldorf in the city district Benrath. Before that, I was organist in Maastricht at the St. Martins Church for four years.
I studied organ and music theory at the conservatories of Maastricht and Liège. Additionally, I followed courses in jazz music in Maastricht and in church music in Utrecht. Togehter with baritone Vincent Kusters I won the 1th Prize at the Internationaler Gesangs-Wettbewerb in Neuss in 2020.
My first compositions for organ were published in 2019. In 2024 Ascolta Music Publishing comissioned 5 new organ compositions (5 Mèditations) for a new edition. I arranged and composed music for theatre and music for use in churches.
I have a great interest in vocal music, especially the French chanson and related genres.
As an organist and musician it's my aim to use and present the organ in a refreshing context in the world of today. I compose and arrange new music and develop new concerts formats, like theatrical organ concerts. In 2025 I created and performed a theatrical concert about Erik Satie together with Natalie Hüskens. For solo recitals, I compose orginal concert programmes that tell a story. I mainly perform in Germany, the Netherlands and France.
For me, the classical organ is not limited to the genre of classical and sacred music only.
